The funeral was Wednesday in St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey, with burial in the church cemetery. She was born Nov. 9, 1901, to Mathias and Margaret Schmitt on her parents' farm near Harvey, where she grew up and attended country schools. She married John J. Froeber Nov. 16, 1921, in Harvey. They made their home in several North Dakota towns through the years, including Bordulac, Kensal, Anamoose, Enderlin and Manfred before moving to Fessenden in 1970. While living in Manfred she cooked for the Manfred Public School for many years and also did sewing for people in her home. After her husband's death Aug. 19, 1982, she remained in Fessenden until moving to the Harvey Nursing Home in October 1993 due to ill health. She was the oldest member of St. Augustine Catholic Church of Fessenden, and was a member of St. Augustine Christian Mothers and the Fessenden Right to Life Chapter. While living in Manfred, she taught catechism in her home for many years. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary of Harvey and was a member and past secretary of the Fessenden Specialist Club. She is survived by one daughter, two sons, 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, sister, Martha Heber, Harvey, brothers, Vincent, Rochester, Minn., Richard and Gilbert, both Mazeppa, Minn., Carl, Edina, Minn.
