ROBERTS Dies in Omaha Funeral services were held Sunday, October 14, 1962 at 2:00 p.m. in the Congregational Church at Dunlap, for Mrs. Willis Roberts, who died Thursday, in Omaha. Rev. Norman Fitch of the Congregational Church officiated and burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dunlap. The Barrett Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Vesta Pounds Roberts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pounds, was born near Dunlap, September 22, 1822. She died October 11, 1962 in Omaha, at the age of 80 years and 18 days. Mrs. Roberts spent most of her life in and around Dunlap. She was a member of the Congregational church and the Rebekah lodge. She was united in marriage to Willis Roberts November 13, 1903, and they would have been married 59 years next month. To this union were born four children: Kenneth of Isleton, California; Paul of Houston, Texas; Joseph of Omaha, Nebraska and Altha, Mrs. George Roberts, of Wiesbaden, Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister. She is survived by her husband, three sons and one daughter, 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Published in The Dunlap Reporter (Dunlap, Iowa) on Thursday, October 18, 1962.
