Description	:	VETA I. GREEN SERVICES HELD Veta I. Green, 48, of Fairbanks, Alaska, who formerly lived in Mill A and White Salmon, died January 26, 1980, in Portland, Oregon, following a long illness. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ridnour of Cook. She is survived by her husband, Robert Green of Fairbanks; two sons, Robert and Patrick, also of Fairbanks; and her parents. Other survivors include three sisters, Lois Green of Underwood, Mary Lee Birkenfeld, Carson; and Margaret Oberst, Vancouver; and three grandchildren. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ridnour of Cook. She is survived by her husband, Robert Green of Fairbanks; two sons, Robert and Patrick, also of Fairbanks; and her parents. Other survivors include three sisters, Lois Green of Underwood, Mary Lee Birkenfeld, Carson; and Margaret Oberst, Vancouver; and three grandchildren. Mrs. Green was born May 16, 1931, in Bedford, Iowa, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ridnour. She and Robert Green and grew up in Mill A and attended Stevenson High School. They were married July 2, 1950, in North Bonneville. They made their home in Mill A, and Green was section foreman for SP&S railroad until 1960. When two SP&S sections were consolidated, the couple moved to White Salmon. They relocated to Fairbanks in 1960, and Green worked as warehouse supervisor for the University of Alaska. Mrs. Green was employed as secretary for Newbery Alaska, Inc. Services were held Wednesday, January 30, 1980, at Evergreen Presbyterian Church, Mill A. Chaplain Otto A. Holgerson officiated. Interment followed at Chris-Zada Cemetery in Underwood. Gardner's Funeral Home, White Salmon, was in charge of arrangements. The Skamania County Pioneer, February 1, 1980
