She was a 1931 graduate of Ellis High School. She married Philip Kinderknecht on June 24, 1935, in Ellis. He preceded her in death in 1972. She was a homemaker and worked as an aide at Ellis Good Samaritan Center for 24 years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a charter member of the Ellis AARP Chapter. She was born June 7, 1911, in Ellis County to Carl and Minnie (Gaschler) Landauer. She was a 1931 graduate of Ellis High School. She married Philip Kinderknecht on June 24, 1935, in Ellis. He preceded her in death in 1972. She was a homemaker and worked as an aide at Ellis Good Samaritan Center for 24 years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a charter member of the Ellis AARP Chapter. She enjoyed bingo and card playing. Survivors include a daughter, Lois Staab, Port St. Joe, Fla.; two brothers, Fritz and Rudy Landauer, both of Forrest Grove, Ore.; a sister, Rosie Spiering, Forrest Grove; her grandchildren, David Staab and wife, Christy, and children Kaiten and Kyrsten, all of Frederick, Md.; Lloyd Kinderknecht and wife, Jennifer, and daughter, Hannah, all of Tampa, Fla., Shawn Brewer and husband, Mark, and children Katie, Julia and Sara, all of Wittier, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Kinderknecht; a grandson, Philip Staab; two brothers, Carl and Henry Landauer; and two sisters, Stella Brown and Tina Sartain. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E. 17th, Ellis, KS 67637; burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Ellis. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, with family present from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Good Samaritan Society Ellis in care of the funeral home.
