Burial in St. Mary of Mercy Calvary Cemetery in Alexandria, South Dakota. Victor Andrew Fuhrman was born on September 29, 1923 to Joseph and Amelia (Loos) Fuhrman in Parkston, South Dakota. Victor entered the United States Army in 1945 and served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre and was honorably discharged. Victor married Marie Kane in Platte on April 19, 1949. They lived on the family farm west of Parkston until March 1959 when they moved to a farm south of Alexandria and lived there until February 1981. They then moved to a farm closer to Emery. Victor cared for Marie for many years before she passed away in 2007. Victor moved to Huron then to be closer to family. He entered Prairie View Care Center in December 2017. Victor was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the American Legion. He was able to visit Washington D.C. on the Honor Flight to see the World War II Memorial. After retirement from farming, Victor began to create farm machinery out of cardboard, earning him a front-page story in the local paper. Many friends and family members have received his creative gifts. He was preceded in death by his wife Marie and daughter Marlys Stern in 2002. His siblings; Francis, Katherine (Andy), Theresa (Leonard), Helen (Paul), and Josephine (Joe). He is survived by his son, David (Diane) Fuhrman, of Huron; Two grandsons Andrew (Lauriann) Fuhrman, of Pierre; Brian (Rachel) Fuhrman of Huron; Five Great-grandchildren; Kaley, Breckon, Aidan, Brylee, and Chance; and son-in-law, Dale Stern as well as many nieces and nephews.
