The deceased had been a resident of Innisfail since 1936 and during that period had won a place in the hearts of the citizens. Anderson passed away at the Innisfail hospital on Thursday, July fifth. The deceased had been a resident of Innisfail since 1936 and during that period had won a place in the hearts of the citizens. The late Mr. Anderson was born in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1883 and came to America with his parents when he was three years old, and in 1901 moved to the Camrose district where he farmed. Later he lived in Edmonton, Donalda and Coronation; and had been in the hardware and funeral director business since 1918. In 1936 he came to Innisfail and bought out R. D. Sheffield's funeral home and furniture business. In October 1944, Mr. Anderson sold his Innisfail business to Mr. Jack Stephen, his son-in-law, and moved to Medicine Hat in hopes of regaining his health but the change did not help and he and Mrs. Anderson returned to Innisfail some months ago. Mr. Anderson took a keen interest in provincial and town affairs and was during his residence in Donalda a member of the school board and on the town council at Coronataion. He was also a Past Chancellor of Knights of Pythias Lodge. He was married in 1912 at Camrose to Martha Brownell, who is left to mourn his passing. He also leaves their sons and daughters: Mrs. John Stephen, Innisfail; Phillip Anderson, Vancouber; Mrs. R. Freeze, Innisfail; Norman Anderson with the Canadian Army overseas; Jimmy Anderson, with the Canadian Navy, now home on leave; Allan Anderson, in the army, stationed at Calgary, and Carol and Douglas, at home. There are two brothers, O.H. Anderson and Alfred Anderson of Donalda, and three sisters, Mrs. J. B. Erickson, Armena, Alta; Mrs. Victor Lindgren, Czar, and Mrs. W. Falk, Vancouver. His mother, Mrs. Gustave Anderson, aged 97 years, is living at Armena, Alberta. Excerpt from The Camrose Canadian, Wednesday, August 8, 1945, page 7.
