Description	:	PORTLAND - Victor Pomerleau, 83, died peacefully on July 14, 2017, at Maine Medical Center in Portland. He fought a courageous battle with lung disease. He was born June 18, 1934, to Odilon and Laura (Semoneau) Pomerleau at St. Zachary, Canada, and later became a United States citizen. He served in the US Army and Special Forces for 26 1/2 years in Japan, Korea, Germany, Vietnam and Hawaii. After his retirement he worked as a carpenter contractor in Florida. Read More	PORTLAND - Victor Pomerleau, 83, died peacefully on July 14, 2017, at Maine Medical Center in Portland. He fought a courageous battle with lung disease. He was born June 18, 1934, to Odilon and Laura (Semoneau) Pomerleau at St. Zachary, Canada, and later became a United States citizen. He served in the US Army and Special Forces for 26 1/2 years in Japan, Korea, Germany, Vietnam and Hawaii. After his retirement he worked as a carpenter contractor in Florida. He adored children, liked going to Greenville time share with the boys, traveling, fishing, four wheeling, the Bruins, but his favorite was Nascar racing as he always said, "he had a need for speed". He was predeceased by his first wife, Norma Wyman, in 1999, and they had three children. He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn (Whiting) Pomerleau; his children Terry, Ricky, and Lisa; a grandson, Christopher Shook; two sisters, Lucille Brochu and husband Marc, and Lillian Toulouse, two brothers, Marc and wife Delores, Tony and wife Cheryl; two special nephews, Simone and Renald Brochu; stepchildren Bonnie, Troy, Janice and Melinda and their children whom he loved very much; many cousins; nieces and nephews. At his request, there will be no showing. Graveside services will be held at the Pine Grove cemetery Cool Extension in Hartland.(Central Maine Newspapers 7/20/2017)
