Read More	Obituary: Nichols, South Carolina Mr. Victor Eugene Sarvis, age 69, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at his home with his family by his side. Victor was born January 31, 1942 in Galivants Ferry, SC, the son of Patrick Cornelius "Neal" Sarvis and Nancy M. "Aiken" Jenerette Sarvis. Victor spent a lifetime protecting others, he worked in Law Enforcement for over twenty-three and a half years, retiring from the Horry County Sheriff's Department. He was very active in his community, where he was a Master Mason with the Murrells Inlet Lodge # 368 A.F.M, a member of the Order of The Eastern Star Loris Chapter # 106 P.P., The Myrtle Beach Chapter # 180 P.P., an Ancient Scottish Rite Mason and member of The Omar Shrine. He was an avid fisherman and bird watcher but more importantly he was a wonderful husband, father, brother and son to his loved ones and a friend to many. He watched over and cared for his mother for many years and was very proud of his family, making a difference in all of our lives. Mr. Sarvis had a history of kidney problems and underwent two kidney transplants, one being given by his son, Neal. As a longtime and active member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church Mr. Sarvis loved and served his Lord and lived his life accordingly. Now, he resides with the Lord. Survivors include his wife of forty-seven years: Martha Williamson Sarvis of the home; his son: Neal E. Sarvis of Galivants Ferry, SC; three daughters: Vickie L. Carter and husband, Eddie of Conway, Marsha G. Sarvis of Nichols and Paula J. Fleming and husband, Jim of Manning, SC; nine grandchildren: Elizabeth and Mason Carter, Rebecca Sarvis, Mitch and Leigh Fleming, and Gabriella, Forrest, Alexandra and Griffin Sarvis; and two sisters: Doris Audrey Hegge of Mullins and Jeanette Zinnia Busse and husband Adrian of Raleigh, NC. Mr. Sarvis was predeceased by his parents and his brother: Samuel Albert Sarvis. Memorial services will be 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Dale Willoughby & Billy Baugus will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials may be made to Cedar Creek Baptist Church, 9375 Black Creek Road, Nichols, SC 29581.
