Mr. Lake was born Jan. 23, 1888 in Dorchester, Iowa, and moved with his family to Lawton, N.D., where they homesteaded. In 1910 he moved to Culbertson and was married there to Caroline Bergland on Dec. 8, 1911. They homesteaded in Malta where Mr. Lake as also engaged in the water well drilling business.
