Description	:	Victor Peter Beier, 83, Topeka, died Monday, May 5, 1997 at a Topeka hospital. Mr. Beier retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in 1975, where he had been a foreman. He was born July 27, 1913 in Topeka, the son of George and Catherine Melchior Beier. Mr. Beier was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council No. 2608. Beier, Steven A. Beier and Dr. Charles G. Beier, all of Topeka, Gregory J. Beier, Winston-Salem, N.C., and Dan P. Beier, Medina, Ohio; four daugthers, Sylvia A. Weichold, Topeka, Geneive Sue Keefer, Parkville, Mo., Jean Herman, Yoakum, Texas, and Loretta J. Smolowitz, Hendersonville, N.C.; two brothers, Carl Beier, Topeka and George Beier, Sequim, Wash.; three sisters, Mary Loretta Beier, Leavenworth, Sophia Rolsing, Topeka, and Martha Maples, Quitman, Ark.; 21 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Beier will lie in state after 2 p.m. Thursday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a Knights of Columbus Council No. 2608 rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. and a parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Memorials contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church or to the charity of the donors' choice and sent in care of the funeral home.
