The funeral will be held Thursday at 1 a.m. in the Congregational United Church of Christ with the Rev. Arthur Orth officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. He attended Huron Public Schools and was graduated from Sioux City Barber College. He was active in professional boxing for several years. He married Evelyn Andrews Dec. 17, 1936, at St. Paul. They have made their home in Huron ever since. Currently he was barbering at A and K Barber Shop. He was a member of the congregational-UCC Church. Survivors are his widow, Evelyn,; two sons, Ronald, Minneapolis and Lt. Cmdr. Larry Friese, U.S. Navy in Guam; one daughter, Mrs. George (Mary Jane) James, Fayetteville, N.C.; six grandchildren; one brother, William, Huron; one sister, Mrs. Holger (Viola) Johnson, Aberdeen. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Harold and Clarence.
