The 1860 Census for Jefferson, NH shows William Remick married to Cynthia Remick along with Victoria "Remick", age 12. (Note: William Remick's 1st wife was Deborah S. Holmes who died in 1847.) Information submitted by Bob Glidden: Victoria Louise Remick was born May 1846 Jefferson, Coos, NH; died 1921 Somerville, Middlesex, MA. She was the daughter of William Remick (1816-1895) and Deborah S. Holmes (1813-1847), and sister of David Root Remick. Wm Remick was indeed married twice: I did not know that his second wife Cynthia Chandler had been earlier married to a Stover, but I understand the mix-up however. Since Deborah Holmes Remick died in 1847, Cynthia Chandler Remick helped raise David Root Remick and his sister Victoria Louise Remick, so to many in Jefferson, Cynthia was considered the mother of William's elder two children. Somehow, then, someone has mistakenly recorded Victoria's mother as a Stover, instead of a Chandler, and not as a step-mother, which she was in reality.
