Description	:	Vikki L. Meyer, 63, of Beatrice died Monday morning, April 25, 2011, at her home at Mosaic in Beatrice. She was born March 14, 1948, at Norfolk She lived at home until she was 17 and then moved to the Beatrice State Developmental Center in 1965. In September of 1968, she moved to the Norfolk Regional Center, where she attended the Opportunity Center School for four years. Meyer, 63, of Beatrice died Monday morning, April 25, 2011, at her home at Mosaic in Beatrice. She was born March 14, 1948, at Norfolk She lived at home until she was 17 and then moved to the Beatrice State Developmental Center in 1965. In September of 1968, she moved to the Norfolk Regional Center, where she attended the Opportunity Center School for four years. On Jan. 24, 1973, she moved to the Blue Valley Lutheran Home, and then in July of 1973, to the Blue Valley Development Home both in Hebron. On Jan. 28, 1982, she moved to Martin Luther Home (Mosaic) in Beatrice. She worked with the cleaning crew at Dempsters, First Presbyterian Church and the Beatrice Police Station and always had a strong work ethic. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Norfolk, was baptized at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Wayne and confirmed at the Methodist Church in Hebron. She enjoyed going out to eat at the Dairy Queen, KFC and Valentino's in Beatrice and Lazlo's in Lincoln. She enjoyed shopping, movies, picnics and getting her hair fixed. Survivors include her mother, Elta Meyer of Norfolk; one brother, Valerius E. Meyer and wife Marilyn of Beatrice; sister-in-law, Susie Chase of Omaha; several nieces and nephews; and her Mosaic family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Wallace Meyer who died in 1989; two brothers, Valdeen and Vernoel and an infant sister, Velda. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 28, at the Mosaic Chapel with Chaplain Emma Daedler and Pastor William Jurgens officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery at Norfolk. A memorial has been established to Mosaic of Beatrice. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home, 19th and Garfield, Beatrice, Wednesday from 8 a.m.-9 p.m., and then at Mosaic one hour preceding the services Thursday.
