Description	:	Vincent Anton Glassmaker, of Pierre, SD, passed away Wednesday evening, January 23, 2008, at the Hospice of the Valley in Mesa, AZ at the age of 79 years and 1 day. Vincent was born on January 22, 1929, in Pierre, SD, the second of three children to Anton and Mary (Fischer) Glassmaker. He grew up on the family farm near Pierre. Read More	Vincent Anton Glassmaker, of Pierre, SD, passed away Wednesday evening, January 23, 2008, at the Hospice of the Valley in Mesa, AZ at the age of 79 years and 1 day. Vincent was born on January 22, 1929, in Pierre, SD, the second of three children to Anton and Mary (Fischer) Glassmaker. He grew up on the family farm near Pierre. Vincent attended country grade school and graduated from Blunt High School in 1946. After school, he served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After the war, he started farming and continued until retiring in 1990. Vincent was united in marriage to Ruth (Wright) Cooper on November 5, 1983, at St. Gall's Catholic Church in Lisco, NE, acquiring his three grown children, Johnny, Eddie and Karin. He enjoyed bowling for many years and started golfing with Ruth. They enjoyed many days on the golf course. They started winter visiting Arizona in 1989 and have spent winter there ever since. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; his children, Johnny and wife Irene Cooper of Bridgeport, Eddie and wife Jeanine Cooper of Apache Junction, AZ, and Karin and husband Dan Lane of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Justin and Rusty Cooper, Joe Lane, Jay and wife Jackie Lane, Scott Campbell, and Adam Willis; great-grandchildren, Prestin Cooper, Caiden and Cameren Rourke, and Chloie Lane; sister, Theresa Upchurch of Huron, SD; sisters-in-law, Ann Glassmaker of California and Goldie O'Neil of Imperial; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Larry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2008, at St. Gall's Catholic Church in Lisco with Father Neal Nollette officiating. Interment will be in the Lisco Memorial Cemetery south of Lisco. Holechek Funeral Home in Oshkosh is in charge of the arrangements.
