Read More	The Dodge Criterion (Dodge, Nebraska) 06 May 1924, Thu Page 1 Services For Vincent Kriz Held Sunday Many Pay Respects To Retired Farmer of This Community Vincent Kriz, 49, well known retired farmer, passed away at this home here, Friday morning after an illness of several days. Although he had been in poor health for a number of years with high blood pressure, and had suffered several strokes, he had recovered sufficiently from these to be able to be up and around and was a familiar figure on the streets of Dodge, having been downtown Tuesday, just before he became critically ill. In January the Krizs held a farm sale and moved in February to a home they had purchased in Dodge in the hope of benefitting his health. His retirement, however, proved to be a short one. He suffered a critical stroke Tuesday from which he failed to rally and early Friday morning he passed away. Vincent Kriz was born December 15, 1893 on a farm northwest of Dodge to Anton and Elinor Kriz. His mother was born in Bohemia and his father was born on a ship on the Atlantic Ocean while his parents were on their way to America. Vincent's parents, retired from active farming and moved to Dodge in 1916. He was married to Miss Cypriana Janecek at West Point, May 10, 1916 and they made their home on a farm one and one-half miles north of Dodge, where they resided until they retired. He come from a family of musicians and was a member of the Dodge Band for many years as was his father. Surviving are his wife, two daughters, (Luella), Mrs. Milo Ruzicka and Melba at home, two grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Janecek of Dodge and Mrs. Rose Faiman of Omaha. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon by Rev. Fillipi of Clarkson at 1:30 at the house and 2:00 at the Bohemian National Chapel, with interment in the Bohemian National Chapel, with interment in the Bohemian National Cemetery.
