Description	:	DUNLAP, Iowa -- Vi Lahr, 75, of Dunlap died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, at Dunlap Nursing and Rehab Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dunlap. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today, with a Scripture service at 7:30 p.m., all at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Fouts Funeral Home in Dunlap. Vi was born July 8, 1928, in Earling, Iowa, to Tony and Barbara (Bissen) Frank. Arrangements are under the direction of Fouts Funeral Home in Dunlap. Vi was born July 8, 1928, in Earling, Iowa, to Tony and Barbara (Bissen) Frank. She graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in Earling in 1947. On Jan. 28, 1948, she married Lyle Lahr. The couple lived in various locations including, Oregon and Cheyenne, Wyo., before settling in Dunlap in the early 1970s. She worked as a waitress at the Larson Cafe and the Dairy Queen in Dunlap for a number of years. She was currently the assistant manager at the Senior Citizens Center in Dunlap. Lyle died Nov. 30, 1985. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She enjoyed the Senior Citizens Center, especially playing cards and visiting with friends there. She is survived by her children, Butch and Noel Lahr of Dow City, Iowa, Jackie and Jim Schaben of Denison, Iowa, Mike Lahr and Beth Case of Kissimmee, Fla., and Larry and Patty Lahr of Carroll, Iowa; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Owen Frank and Jim Frank, both of Omaha and Francis Frank and his wife, Marie of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Ella Schwarte of Harlan, Iowa, and Jeanie and her husband, Joe Sandbothe, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; a brother-in-law, Gene Lefeber of Earling, Iowa; special friends, John Schwab and Joey Garrett, both of Dunlap; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lyle; a brother, Ernie Frank; and a sister, Joanne Lefeber. Source: Sioux City Journal
