Mrs. Weed was born in Ridgeville on February 12, 1904, a daughter of the late John Henry Chinners and Beulah Welch Chinners. She grew up in Ridgeville and graduated from Ridgeville High School. Mrs. Weed moved to Georgetown in the early 1930's and was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church. Mrs. Weed moved to Georgetown in the early 1930's and was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Helen Turner Circle, a life member of the United Methodist Women, and a former member of the church Altar Guild. Surviving are: a son, Lester L. "Buzzy" Weed, Jr. and his wife Ann of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren, Davis Weed and Tracy Swails, both of Mt. Pleasant, Renee Millwood of Cross Hill, and Melanie Eaddy of Georgetown; and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Weed was predeceased by: her husband, former Mayor of Georgetown, Lester L. Weed; and a daughter, Sandra Weed Squires. Funeral services will be eleven o'clock Thursday morning, September 30, 2004, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Phillip C. Thrailkill. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the funeral services from ten until eleven o'clock.
