April 10, 1983, at the Heritage Nursing Home in Girard. She had been seriously ill for about three weeks. Mrs. Stocker was born Oct. 1, 1903, at Nowata, Okla., to John F. and Anna Elma DeMoss. She worked as a school teacher until she married Johnny Stocker on April 18, 1923, in Girard. He died in 1982. They had lived in Crawford County since their marriage. She was a member of the United Chapel Church and had been active with the young people in the church, and a leader in Pleasant Union 4-H Club for several years. Survivors include one daughter, Betty Adams, McCune; two sisters, Norma Rule, Wichita, and Ethel Leistikow, Parsons; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, two sisters and two brothers. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Stewart Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Olson assisted by Virgil Lempenau officiating. Burial will be in the Cherokee Cemetery.
