(Foss) Koons 96 of Tawas City and formerly of Battle Creek Homer and Concord died Sunday Feb. 6, 1994, in Tendercare of East Tawas. She was born Feb 19 1897 in Battle Creek to Enos and Eliza (Case) Foss. She attended County Normal School and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School. She spent most of her life in the Homer-Concord area, where she taught at Fisher School and farmed with her husband. (Foss) Koons 96 of Tawas City and formerly of Battle Creek Homer and Concord died Sunday Feb. 6, 1994, in Tendercare of East Tawas. She was born Feb 19 1897 in Battle Creek to Enos and Eliza (Case) Foss. She attended County Normal School and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School. She spent most of her life in the Homer-Concord area, where she taught at Fisher School and farmed with her husband. She taught Sunday school at Cook's Prairie Baptist Church, Homer where she was a member. She moved to Ypsilanti in 1976 and to East Tawas in 1988. In 1922, she married John H. Koons Jr. He died in 1958. Surviving are a son Darell J Koons of Greenville, SC a daughter, Doris L. Elston of East Tawas; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Harvey Foss of Battle Creek; and sisters, Nancy Runyon of Crawfordsville, Ind., and Dorothy Burgett of Battle Creek. Also preceding her in death were a sister, Hazel Terwilliger; and brothers Aldrich and Melborn Foss. Visitation: Noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Homer Chapel of Tidd- Wffliams Funeral Chapels where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services: 1 p.m Thursday at the funeral home.
