She attended locals schools, graduating from Rising City High School in 1942. She then attended Midland College for two years. Vi was a homemaker/farmer's wife and she also worked as a cook at Rising City High School for over 15 years. On September 3, 1942, she married Carl Hoffman. Four daughters were born to this union. Carl passed away in 1964. She married Carl Hall in 1976. He passed away in 1982. Vi was member of First Lutheran Church of Rising city. In her younger years, she was the church secretary/cleaning person for the church. She would raise huge flower and vegetable gardens and loved to be outside, working in those gardens. She was a good cook and pie baker, with her specialty being apple pie. She loved being involved with her church, family and watching birds, especially cardinals. She was the family caretaker for many years, caring for her grandparents, parents and other family members. She had a special bond with her three sisters, all who have preceded her in death.
