She was born Jan. 30, 1912, in Tucumari, N.M., daughter of Joseph and Clare Mae (Webster) Richardson. Mrs. Ashford was a member of the Valley Baptist Church. She was born Jan. 30, 1912, in Tucumari, N.M., daughter of Joseph and Clare Mae (Webster) Richardson. Mrs. Ashford was a member of the Valley Baptist Church. Retired from motel housekeeping, she was a volunteer for the Carroll Regional Medicla Center Auxiliary, in Berryville. Survivors include two sons, J.H. Gilbert and wife Jean of Cutbank, Mont., and Harvey Gilbert of Nixa, Mo.; a daughter Nadean Houghton of Harrison; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. On Nove. 25, 1930, she married John Gilbert, who preceded her in death. On March 1, 1970, she married V.E. "Tex" Ashford, who also preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son Joe Gilbert; four daughters, Frances Gilbert, Ella Jean Gilbert, Ellda Lee Finch, and Shirley Reagan; and her parents. Funeral services were held on Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville, with the Rev. David Kline and Earl Dean Phillips officiating. Interment followed in the Western Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
