Description	:	Viola VerLinda Chilcote, 90, of Miles City passed away on Friday, Feb. 24, 2006, at the Holy Rosary Extended Care Facility in Miles City. Viola was born in a mud house on June 12, 1915, in Parkston, S.D., the daughter of John and Mary Fischer Leischner. She was one of 17 children who were born and raised on the family farm at Parkston. She attended school until the 11th grade in Parkston. She then moved to Mitchell, S.D., where she was a waitress. Read More	Viola VerLinda Chilcote, 90, of Miles City passed away on Friday, Feb. 24, 2006, at the Holy Rosary Extended Care Facility in Miles City. Viola was born in a mud house on June 12, 1915, in Parkston, S.D., the daughter of John and Mary Fischer Leischner. She was one of 17 children who were born and raised on the family farm at Parkston. She attended school until the 11th grade in Parkston. She then moved to Mitchell, S.D., where she was a waitress. While in Mitchell, she met Carl Chilcote and they were married on May 5, 1936, in Mitchell. Following their marriage, they moved to Miles City where Mr. Chilcote was a mechanic at Boutelles and Mrs. Chilcote worked at the Miles City Steam Laundry for many years. She loved to sew, listen to Lawrence Welk, and fish and hunt with her husband every weekend. Her survivors include three brothers, Milton Leischner of Sioux Falls, S.D., Roger Leischner, and his wife, Patsy, of Rochester, Wash., and Denton Leischner, and his wife, Evelyn, of Bromerton, Wash.; four sisters, Deloris "Dee" Sweeney of Miles City, Sylvia Clark and Elaine Hansgartner and her husband, Hans, all of Rochester, Wash., and Mary Ann Saisslin of Kennewick, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl in September 1975; and nine brothers and sisters, Edwin, Edna, Alma, Leo, Adella, Florence, Phyllis, Marvin and Morris. Visitation was on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment was held at a later date, in then Custer Co, Cemetery, Miles City, Monntana.
