Celebration of Life Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the Powers Funeral Home in Afton. Pastor Dwayne Henrichs will officiate. Burial will be in the Murray Cemetery in Murray. (Huss) Loy and Clair A. Loy, was born January 17, 1932 at her home near Murray, Iowa. In 1950, she graduated from Murray High School. On June 7, 1953 Viola was united in marriage to Calvin Willett at the United Methodist Church in Osceola, Ia. They settled on a farm near Thayer where she has been a long-time resident. She worked as a homemaker and an active mother for many years. After Calvin's death she began working for Bonnie's flowers for a short time. She moved to Creston in 2013 where she lived at Prairie View Assisted Living prior to moving to the care center in Afton. Viola found joy in gardening, cooking, crafting and taking care of her cattle. Viola also loved spending time playing bingo and card games with family and friends. Viola was an active member of the Pleasant Valley Church Survivors include her daughter Sharon (husband Russell); three sons, Jack (wife Susan), Steven (wife Denice) and Dale (wife Julie); nine grandchildren, Chad, Stacy, Tammy, Amy, Angie, Derick, Heather, Heidi, Cody, Branden and Joe; and eleven great-grandchildren, Kelsie, Jake, Carly, Caden, Jacie, Lucas, Kyson, Jase, Bryce, Haley and Brock. Viola was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Calvin, in 1984 and a brother, Paul Loy.
