Description	:	Viola "Vi" Seffinga, 74, of 612 West Main Street, Marshalltown, formerly of Liscomb, died Thursday, Feb. 14, at Villa del Sol Health Center in Marshalltown. Following cremation at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home & Crematory, memorial services will be held Monday, Feb. 18, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Rich King, officiating. No visiting hours are scheduled, however, a register book will be available at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory on Saturday, Feb. 16, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Private family-burial will be in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial fund has been established to Iowa River Hospice. She was born April 8, 1927, in Gilman, the daughter of Theodore and Mary (Uchytil) Finch. She was raised in the Tama-Toledo area prior to graduating from Marshalltown High School in 1945. She was married to Robert Brasch in the late 40's and later married John Seffinga in 1966. In 1969, she and John opened Seffinga's Royal Blue Grocery Store in Liscomb. She served as City Clerk, City Council Member and was the Mayor of Liscomb for 12 years. She also worked for the Department of Human Services from 1975 to 1988. She stayed active in many community areas, including Community Theater, Welcome Wagon and Rebekka Lodge. Survivors include her daughters Mary Brake of Topeka, Kan. and Cecelia Ohrt of Marinette, Wis.; brother Richard (JoAnn) Finch of Marshalltown; sister-in-law Faye Finch of Marshalltown; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
