Owings, 45, of Ottumwa route 6, and her infant daughter, died at 9:45 a.m. today at the St. Joseph hospital. The mother was the wife of Oval D. Owings and the daughter of Mr.and Mrs. James Stanton. She was born at Marengo, Iowa. Besides the husband and father, survivors are four children, Zola I. Owings, Vada C. Owings, Samuel R. Owings, and Reva L. "OWINGS FUNERAL," From "Ottumwa Courier," October 2, 1943: Funeral services for Mrs. Viola W. Owings, wife of Oval D. Owings and their infant daughter, who died Friday morning at the St. Joseph hospital, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday from the Johnson funeral chapel conducted by the Rev. E.M. Boyer. Burial will be in McIntire cemetery. Mrs. Owings is also survived by two sons, Verl and Noel Mark.
