Read More	Garden County News (Oshkosh, Nebraska), Jun. 12, 2003, Page 2 Violet Grace, age 88, lifetime resident of Lewellen, died on June 9, 2003 at the Garden County Health Services in Oshkosh, NE. Violet was born on April 19, 1915 in Big Springs, NE., the daughter of William and Anna Haldeen Grannell. Violet graduated from Big Springs High School in 1932. On February 23, 1935, Violet married Dale Grace. The couple made their home on the family farm in Big Springs. In 1938, the Graces moved to their home in Lewellen, where Violet was living at the time of her death. Dale died in 1991. She was preceded in death by brothers, Arthur Grannell in 1987 and Howard Grannell in 1999 and an infant grandson, Casey Grace. Survivors include daughter, Joann and husband, John Podkonyak of Lewellen; three sons, Marvin (Gail) Grace, Merlyn (Arlene) Grace and Melvin "Butch" (Jeannie) Grace, all of Lewellen. Also, five granddaughters, Holli Ann (Sidney) Fessler of Omaha, NE; Jill Marie (Bill) Campbell of Oshkosh, NE; Geri Lynn (Larry) Alworth of Bums, Wyoming: Shelby Jo Grace of Lewellen; Julie (Rick) Kreuter of Big Springs, NE.; two grandsons, Mitchum D. Grace of Gilbert, Arizona and Monte J. Grace of Kearney, NE, and two great-granddaughters. Graveside services were held on Wednesday, June 11, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ash Hollow Cemetery near Lewellen. Pastor Duane Dunwoody of Keystone will officiate. A memorial has been established to Western Prairie Hospice of Ogallala. Draucker Funeral Home of Ogallala was in charge of arrangements.
