Read More	~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ SERVICES HELD JANUARY 27 FOR VIOLET RAWSON Violet Sanderson Rawson passed away January 19, 2001 at her home in Commerce City at the age of 60. Violet was born on October 22, 1940 to John and Anna Sanderson three miles west of Wray. Violet attended school at two country schools, Wray Grade School, and graduated form Wray High School. After graduation Violet worked a short time for the Mountain Bell Telephone Company in Wray. She then worked at a cafe before going to work for A. L. Duckwalls where she was office manager for almost 30 years. On October 1, 1978 Violet was united in marriage to Melvin Rawson of Commerce City. she then worked at Alco/Duckwalls and several restaurants until her health forced her to retire. Her co-workers loved her. During her 22 year marriage she and her husband did a lot of traveling. The two trips she enjoyed most were to the Grand Old Opry in Nashville, Tennessee and touring the Elvis Presley Museum. She loved her Elvis collection that included music, pictures, and mementos. She also fell in love with Klondike and Snow and was very sad when they were remove from the Denver Zoo. Violet was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Gracie Newton and brothers-in-law, John Newton and Glen Warren; niece, Esley Warren; and great-nephews, Bryan Like and Christopher Ford. She is survived by her husband (MELVIN) of Commerce City; sisters, Irene Muller and husband, Max, and Betty Warren of Wray nieces and nephews and a host of relative and friends. Services were held January 27, 2001 at the First Presbyterian Church in Wray with Rev. Stephen Allen officiating. Interment was at the Grandview Cemetery in Wray.
