Description	:	Violet is the youngest daughter of three girls and four boys born to Otto and Emma (Retch) Raddatz. She was raised in the Lorenzo area and graduated from Sidney High School. She married Howard Kurz on April 19-1946. Violet always enjoyed her family. This lay had many talent, Vi, was an active partner in the family farming business, Kurz Combining was started in 1949. They harvested grain from Texas to South Dakota and farmed in Cheyenne County. Vi would run a tractor, combine, grain truck, or what ever else needed doing. She knew the business end of many... Read More	Violet is the youngest daughter of three girls and four boys born to Otto and Emma (Retch) Raddatz. She was raised in the Lorenzo area and graduated from Sidney High School. She married Howard Kurz on April 19-1946. Violet always enjoyed her family. This lay had many talent, Vi, was an active partner in the family farming business, Kurz Combining was started in 1949. They harvested grain from Texas to South Dakota and farmed in Cheyenne County. Vi would run a tractor, combine, grain truck, or what ever else needed doing. She knew the business end of many a wrench and she ran for all the parts and also had the detail of feeding the hired hands. Vi started her work early in life working as a checker at Safeway, her senior year of high school. She was a 30 year member of the East Sidney Draw Extension Club. She enjoyed crafts, baking, sewing, and creating many things for their lovely home in Sidney. Each year she planted her flower beds at the home with petunias and roses.
