Description	:	Service of Remembrance for Violet June Ploog, 98, of Bismarck, ND will be Friday, May 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Lemmon, SD. Rev. Ken Miller will officiate and burial will follow at the Greenhill Cemetery in Lemmon. Visitations will be from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 27 at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon and one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday morning. VIOLET JUNE WISE was born in Chicago, IL on June 25, 1911. At the age of two she moved with her parents, J.D. and Anna (Muschik) Wise to Sioux County, ND along the Cedar River, north of Thunder Hawk, SD. There she attended country schools and graduated from Thunder Hawk High School in 1930 as the valedictorian of her class. Violet attended Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen, SD for two years, then taught school in different country schools in the Morristown and Keldron, SD communities. In November of 1934 she was united in marriage to Albert Ploog. They established their home on the Ploog homestead farm near Keldron, SD. Violet was a great seamstress, sewing coats, dresses and making quilts for her grandchildren. She was active in the community as a 4-H leader for many years and in the Bethel Lutheran Church activities. With her husband, Albert, she helped raise cows, calves, sheep, chickens, pheasants and always grew a big garden along with her farming and ranching activities. When Albert passed away in 1993, she continued to live on the farm until 2002 when she moved to the Terrace in Bismarck, ND to be nearer to family. In 2007 Violet entered the Baptist Home in Bismarck where she passed away on May 23, 2010. She leaves her son, ElNathan (Norma) Ploog, Spearfish, SD, daughter, Claudette (Paul) Maher, Bismarck, ND, daughter, June Ann (Gary) Myskewitz, Havre, MT; eight grandchildren, Amanda Frazier, Chad Ploog, Yvonne Maher, Steve Maher, Tom Maher, Jennifer Barrett, Michele Bibeau and Melissa Knapton; ten great grandchildren, Matix Ploog, Zoie Maher, Alexis Maher, Jacob Maher, Jessica Maher, Toby Maher, Bridget Bibeau, Madelynn Knapton and Emma Knapton, sister-in-law, Irene Wise, and eight nieces and nephews. Violet was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Albert, her daughter, True Hope, brothers Morris and Richard Wise, sisters, Lillian Bradford and Dorothy Thompson.
