Description	:	Violet Steward, 101, passed away April 19, 2018, at Signature Healthcare of Terre Haute. She was born March 14, 1917, in Prairie Creek, to Emery and Ollie (Hazlett) Keegan. Violet worked at Commercial Solvents and F.W. Woolworth at Meadows Center. She handmade over 100 quilts, several table runners, and wall hangings. She crocheted and knitted several blankets. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jim Huff; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Patty Steward; sisters, Joy Edwards of Fort Collins, Colo., and Charlotte Pound of Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren, David (Lynn) Steward, Melinda (Brent) Bones, Robert (Maryann) Steward, Amanda Burns, Christopher (Stephanie) Steward, Matthew (Salena) Steward; great-grandchildren, Alisha Steward, Anthony (AJ) Steward, Drew Steward, Andrea Steward, Karina Bones, Chryssa Steward, Christian Steward, Sophia Steward, Haley Dickinson, Faith Wood, Khloe Lafata; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Signature Healthcare for the care they have provided for Violet. Visitation will be at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home on Monday, April 23, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Bob Roush officiating.
