A Celebration of Life Service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the Le Mars Bible Church with Pastor Fred Gums officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars. A private family burial will occur at the Stanton Township Cemetery. Violet Louise Fischer was born September 27, 1920 on the family farm in Stanton Township, Merrill, Iowa to Albert and Freda (Seiler) Fischer. Violet was baptized at home. She attended country school in Stanton Township and graduated from Le Mars Central High School in 1938. Violet was united in marriage to Marvin Schultz on October 15, 1946. The couple farmed in Stanton Township until Marvin's death on February 25, 1985. In December of 1976 they moved to Le Mars. Violet was a longtime member of the Stanton E.U.B. Church having served as the church organist and taught Sunday School for many years. Following the closure of the church, they worshiped at the Calvary United Methodist and since the 1990's the Le Mars Bible Church. Violet enjoyed gardening, flowers, quilting, knitting and holiday baking with the grandchildren. Survivors include her four children: Bev Schultz, Mel Schultz and his wife Susan, Lee Schultz and his wife Audrey, and Lanny Schultz and his wife Julie; six grandchildren: Jennifer (Jason), Matthew (Heather), Andrew (Jessica), Tim, Sarah (Brian), and Rachel (Josh) and 8 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Beulah Hemenway and her husband Henry; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Freda (Seiler) Fischer; her husband Marvin; a granddaughter, Rebecca Schultz; and a brother, Marvin Fischer and his wife Elaine.
