Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Parkview United Methodist Church in Cozad. The Revs. Robert E. Berlie Sr. and Roger Dean will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery north of Cozad. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad. Memorials are suggested to the church, Central Plains Home Health and Hospice or the donor's choice in her memory. Mrs. Anderson was born June 27, 1908, south of Callaway to James and Alwilda (Osborn) Ashley. She graduated from Callaway High School in 1927 and attended Kearney College. She taught rural school in Custer County. She married Ralph M. Anderson on Dec. 24, 1928. The couple farmed and ranched north of Cozad in Roten Valley. In 1971, they moved to Cozad. Her husband died in 1986. She lived at Southview Manor Care Center for the past 10 years. She was a member of Parkview United Methodist Church. She was an active in teaching youth in Redfern, Pleasant Valley and Morning Star churches while living in the country. She was the contributing reporter of the Roten Valley news for the Tri-County Trib. She was an avid reader and read to other residents at the manor. She supported the Cozad Scholarship Foundation. She also enjoyed 4-H, gardening, numerous types of needlework and tea parties. Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Muriel Shea of Lexington and Carolyn and Kent Lichtenwalter of Grand Island; a son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Kathy Anderson of Cozad; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Donald and Dwight, an infant , and five sisters, Ruth and Fern Ashley, Evelyn Maier, Mabel Patterson and Pearl Stauffer.
