Violet was born on May 19, 1924 the daughter of Benjamin and Susie(Boese) Richert at their home near rural Richey, Montana. Violet was raised and educated at the Fairview School in rural Dawson County. On December 28, 1941 Violet married Vern Buller at the Bethlehem Mennonite Church. She and her husband farmed nine miles East of Richey from 1942 until they moved to Paraguay in 1954 where Vern helped clear land and worked construction. In 1956 they returned to Richey to continue farming until 1960 when they moved back to Paraguay. They stayed there until 1965 when the call to return to the Richey area brought them back. In the late 1980's they moved to Lame Deer, Montana and in 2006 Violet and Vern moved to Glendive where they had resided since. Violet was an independent and self-sufficient woman whose life was devoted to her husband and children. She raised very large gardens and canned all of the produce that she could. She also contributed her cooking skills to feeding the kids attending the Northern Cheyenne Mennonite Church Bible Camp for twenty plus years. Violet was also an accomplished seamstress and quilter. Her denim quilts were often in demand. Violet enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She used that musical ability to worship her Lord by playing for many church services and functions. She is preceded in death by her husband Vern in 2008, her parents, one infant granddaughter and one infant grandson, three sisters, and two brothers. Violet is survived by her son, Tom (Linda) Buller of Glendive; daughters, Kathy (Doug) Gadomski of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Nina (Dave) Gibbs of Republic, Ohio, and Cecilia Jenkins of Albuquerque; a twin sister, Viola Unruh of Wolf Point, Montana; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Mennonite Central Committee at P.O. Box 235, North Newton, Kansas 67117.
