Description	:	Violet quietly passed away Thursday evening March 21, 2013 at Colusa Regional Medical Center, surrounded by all her seven children and numerous grandchildren, at the age of 97 and 5 months. She was born on October 20, 1915 on the ranch her father settled on located at Cortina School and Hahn Roads and continued to live there her entire life. Sorensen, who knew Violet and the family, was kind enough to come down and help Violet with the cows and ranch work, etc. Swen and Violet tied the knot on October 1, 1953. Upon this marriage a daughter was born to join the other six. Violet loved living in the country raising the children, watching all the crops grow, having animals around all the time, working in her garden she loved so much where so many family gatherings have taken place thru the years. This she truly treasured and always expressed how blessed she felt. Violet was very involved with all her children in 4-H and FFA for many years with animals and various projects. The Colusa Co. Fair was always a highlight of the year. She was a sewing leader during this time, also. Later she attended the fair watching her grand-children's projects. She was a longtime and very dedicated member of the Parkside Methodist Church. She taught Sunday School for many years and held any office asked of her. She always lived life, with the values and morals that she knew was right. She was also involved with the Telecare program for several years. She was a member of the Willows Travelers Group, going on several trips and enjoying all that she saw. She never missed going on a trip when asked, or the car door was open for her! She always had some family member saying "Mom how about going here?" She lived a very happy, fulfilled and healthy life. She left so much behind to her family, in lessons taught by her, so they lead their daily lives with good morals and values. She was preceded in death by her father George Franklin Green and mother Birdie G. DeBolt Green, husbands, George F. Manhart and Swen A. Sorensen and longtime family member Robert W. Bailey. She is survived by sons, Charles F. Manhart of Arbuckle and John (Marge) Manhart of Williams; daughters, Ruby (Dan) Gobec of Camino, Violet (Joe) Silva of Woodland, Claire Froh of Williams, Opal (Jim) Murphy of Yuba City, Rose Anne Sorensen of Arbuckle. She is also survived by grandchildren, Jennifer Manhart, Jimmy (Renee) Manhart, Erin (Brett) Mulqueeney, Kandi Manhart, Jamie (Brando) Strohmaier, Kari Gobec, Sheri Gobec, Wendy Silva, Charlie Froh, Anthony, Adam, Audie and Andy (Adalena) Murphy; and numerous great grandchildren. Having been an only child, Violet always said she'd never just have one. She will be missed by all of us, but will live forever in our hearts. She is also survived by Emma Velasquez and Rondy McCoy who each gave so much love, extra special care and companionship to Mom/Grandma during the last few years, which was so appreciated by her and the family. A viewing will take place on Monday April 1, 2013 at McNary-Moore Funeral Chapel from 5:00-8:00 p.m. with services being Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the Parkside Methodist Church 936 G Street in Williams at 10:00a.m. followed by graveside at the Arbuckle Cemetery.
