Description	:	Violet "Vickie" Edgington, 75, Marshalltown, died Saturday, September 14, 2002 at the Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. Her death came peacefully with her final wish granted.. to have all four of her children at her side. Funeral services and a celebration of her life was held Wednesday, September 18 at the Central Christian Church with Rev Jeffrey Caswell officiating. She was laid to rest in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Born Violet Weuve on May 1, 1927 in Zearing, she was the only child born to Vernon and Evelyn Wood Weuve. She received her education in Colo and graduated from the Colo High School. Prior to her marriage she owned and operated Violet's Beauty Salon in State Center. On January 28, 1946 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, she was united in marriage to Jack Edgington of Avery, Iowa. They made Marshalltown their home all their married lives, where she was a longtime member of the Central Christian Church family, several ladies groups and circles in the church and was church librarian for many years. She will be fondly remembered as a loving and generous family woman who enjoyed crosswords and bird watching. She will be greatly missed by family and friends alike. Left to mourn her loss are three daughters and one son: Terry Edgington of Marshalltown; Connie (Mack) Eddy of Flower Mound, Texas; Sally (Kenneth) Hagen of Marshalltown; and Ann (Charles) Bidwell of rural Montour; six grandchildren, Kenny and Katie Hagen, both at Iowa State University; Angela (Jeremiah) Hobbs of Ogden; Nichole Edgington of Payton; Matthew Edgington at Ellsworth College; Nathan Bracy of rural Montour and one great grandson, Blake Hobbs. In death she rejoined her parents and her husband Jack who left us October 5, 2000. September 26, 2002 State Center Enterprise.
