Description	:	Violette Arntz, 92, Salem, Ore., formerly of Bismarck, died Feb. 25, 1997. Memorial services were held March 3 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Bismarck at a later date. Violette was born Feb. 23, 1905, in Hancock, Minn., to Joseph W. Gregor and Elvena Erps. She spent her youth in Minnesota, and attended college there. Violette was born Feb. 23, 1905, in Hancock, Minn., to Joseph W. Gregor and Elvena Erps. She spent her youth in Minnesota, and attended college there. She moved to Burnstad to teach school. It was there she met and married Theodore John Arntz in 1926. During her teaching career of 47 years, Violette influenced the lives of several generations of students. She added many extra dimensions to their lives, including her love of music and dance. Her civic activities included Catholic Daughters of America and Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Honorary Society. She was nominated for North Dakota Mother of the Year in 1975. Violette enjoyed music, dancing, playing bridge and painting. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judith, in 1970, and by her husband, Theo, in 1973. She is survived by one daughter, Eileen Hochhalter, Salem; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
