Description	:	Virgie "Betty" Langrell passed away peacefully in her sleep in Tracy, at 87 years of age. She was born and raised in Hazel Valley, Arkansas. She was the youngest of ten siblings, all of whom pre-deceased her. At 16, she got a job in the Naval Shipyears building ships for the Navy during WWII. She was a welder. She met and married her husband Russell Langrell in 1945. They were married for forty-four years. They lived in San Francisco, San Mateo, and thirty-seven years in Half Moon Bay. She continued to live in Modesto, until 2010 when she moved to Tracy. Virgie is survived by her son and daughter in law Jerry and Linda Langrell of Ceres, and her daughter and son-in-law Jo Dean and Allan Lakeman of San Jose; she will also be missed by her grandchildren, Matthew, Adam and Jerry, Jr. Langrell of Ceres, Jeff Lakeman of Grass Valley, Christine Williams and her husband, David of San Jose; and her great grandchildren, Matthew, Jr. and Megan Langrell of Oakdale, Leighann and Michael Lakeman of Grass Valley, Kayla, Deanna, and Zachary Williams of San Jose; Virgie will also be missed by her great great granddaughter, Paisley Langrell of Oakdale. Visitation services Monday, January 6 from 10:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. at Franklin & Downs Ceres Chapel, 2561 5th Street in Ceres, followed by a graveside service at Ceres Cemetery. Burial at Ceres Cemetery, 1801 East Whitmore Avenue in Ceres, California. Published in the Modesto Bee on January 3, 2014.
