Description	:	Virgie Leona Eickholt, 83, of Anthon died Sunday, January 10, 1999, at a Sioux City hospital. Services were held January 13 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon with Rev. David Hogan officiating. Burial was in Mount St. Joseph Cemetery in Anthon. Mrs. Eickholt was born November 8, 1915, in Buck Grove, Iowa, the daughter of William Bennett and Cora Christiana (Osburn) Thompson, but always celebrated her birthday on November 5th and unofficially accepted the 5th as her birthday. Mrs. Eickholt was born November 8, 1915, in Buck Grove, Iowa, the daughter of William Bennett and Cora Christiana (Osburn) Thompson, but always celebrated her birthday on November 5th and unofficially accepted the 5th as her birthday. She moved to Anthon as a child and attended Anthon schools. She married William Eickholt November 8, 1933, at Anthon. He died October 8, 1993. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary McNiff Unit 389. Survivors include three sons and their wives, William and Phyllis Eickholt of Cherokee, Iowa; Walter and Esther Eickholt of Carson, Iowa; Francis and Marlene Eickholt of Onawa, Iowa; one daughter and her husband, Alice and Kenneth Bunnell of Anthon; two brothers, Fred Thompson and his wife, Norma, of Correctionville, Iowa, and Walter Thompson of Moville, Iowa, 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Albert Peters, Friday, Henry and Jerry Thompson; a daughter, Margaret Elaine Eickholt, and a grandson, Edward William Eickholt.
