Description	:	Virgil Aden, 87, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at the Winner Regional Healthcare Center in Winner, SD. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Colome, SD. Burial will be in the Colome Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 26, from 5-7:30 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home and will continue at the church prior to funeral services. Virgil D. Read More	Virgil Aden, 87, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at the Winner Regional Healthcare Center in Winner, SD. Aden was born April 23, 1923 to Albert and Marie (Iburg) Aden at Dallas, SD. As a young man he helped his dad on the farm and worked for the neighbors part time. In 1944, he was inducted into the United States Army. He fought with the 42nd Infantry Division in Europe and was Honorably Discharged from the United States Army in 1946. In 1944, he was united in marriage to Rozella Esterling of Gregory, SD at Mineral Wells, TX, where he was stationed in the United States Army. To this union two children were born, Marlene and Douglas. In 1946 they started farming east of Colome, SD. In 1956 they moved into the town of Colome where Virgil worked in the Colome Grain Elevator for 29 years until retiring in 1985. In 1995, they moved to Gregory where they lived until his wife's death in 1999. In 2000, he moved to Winner to be closer to his family. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and playing pitch with his friends. He really enjoyed the time spent with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and most recently his great, great grandson. He was a lifetime member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Colome, a member of the Colome City Council, the Colome American Legion and the Winner Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by his daughter, Marlene Pajl of Winner, son, Douglas (Laura) of Westminster, CO, by his grandchildren, Lisa (Todd) Stiehl, Lana (Mike) Stickland, all of Winner, SD, Duane (Tara) Pajl of Witten, SD and Justin (Stacy) Pajl of McCook Lake, SD, Kelli Aden of Longmont, CO and Brian Aden of Norfolk, VA, eight great grandchildren and one great, great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Marie; his wife, Rozella; his brother, Clarence and his son-in-law, Edward Pajl.
