Read More	* IN LOVING MEMORY OF * Virgil Dean Townsend was born on Tuesday; March 15, 1932 in Osceola; Clarke County, Iowa. He was the son of: Virgil E. and Ethyl Mae Baker Townsend. Virgil was a lifetime resident of Osceola, Iowa. He graduated from Osceola High School and then served 2 years in the Army during the Korean War. He married Carol Foreman in 1957 at the Christian Church in Osceola, Iowa and they were married 51 years. Two children blessed this marriage, Kevin and Dee Ann, of which he was so proud and enjoyed doing activities with them such as traveling, fishing, camping, building things with wood and many others. Virg & Carol shared their love of the outdoors with their grandchildren. Jennifer, Krystal, Natalie and Danny all had turns going camping, riding mopeds, hiking, fishing and sitting around the campfire roasting marshmallows. Virgil worked for Jack Jeffrey Amusement Company for 35 years. Virgil and Carol bought their own vending business and ran that until Virgil retired in 1999. Virgil Dean Townsend, age 76, passed away on Tuesday; October 21, 2008 at the Nursing & Rehab in Osceola, Iowa. Those left to mourn his passing are: His wife: Carol Townsend of Osceola, Iowa. His son: Kevin (Teri) Townsend of Osceola, Iowa. His daughter: Dee Ann Townsend of Winthrop; Okanogan County, Washington. His grandchildren and great grandchildren. His brother: Frank (Doris) Townsend of Osceola, Iowa. His sister: Leora (Boyd) Siefkas of Colorado. His nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host friends. Virgil was preceded in death by his parents: Florence & Frank Foreman (mother-in-law & father-in-law); Louise & Ernie Scholl (sister & brother-in-law) and Betty Townsend (sister-in-law). May they rest in peace. There will be no visitation. Graveside services will begin at: 2:00 p.m. on Thursday; October 23, 2008 at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola, Iowa.
