Description	:	ST. PAUL — Virgil Becker, 90, of St. Paul died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at The Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Thomas Clark will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul, with military honors at graveside by Carl Mogensen American Legion Post 119 of St. Paul. Read More	ST. PAUL — Virgil Becker, 90, of St. Paul died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at The Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha. Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Becker was born April 22, 1923, north of St. Paul to Ernest and Effie (Nelson) Becker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta, a daughter, Linda, and a son, Gayle (Bob). Survivors of the immediate family include sister, Margie Cook of Omaha. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Cheryl of Santa Fe, Richard of Portland, and Lindsey of Council Bluffs and her two children, Buddy and Danika. He attended District 33 and then attended St. Paul High School and graduated in 1941. After graduation, he worked with the Missouri Pacific Railroad in Omaha, later returning to St. Paul to farm with his father. In 1945, he was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Sill, Okla. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Virgil was united in marriage to Loretta Dankert on Sept. 9, 1945, in Fort Sill, Okla. The couple later returned to the farm where Virgil raised crops and cattle. He also did custom corn shelling and trucking. Virgil loved to visit with people. Virgil was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and the Carl Mogensen American Legion Post 119 both of St. Paul.
