Virgil Earl Jarrett was born on August 1, 1926 in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Burt and Lela (McIntire) Jarrett. On January 22, 1949, Virgil was united in marriage to Nova Wyatt Hoehle in Nichols, Iowa. He had worked as a delivery driver for Sprouse Pepsi Distributing for 27 years and retired after 14 years at Hy-Vee. Virgil was a member of the Island United Methodist Church, Muscatine Moose Lodge, the Independent Order of the Foresters and two camping clubs. He enjoyed reading, camping and watching his Cardinals play. His greatest love was time spent with his family and dog. Virgil will be deeply missed by his wife, Nova; children, Donna (Tom) Meerdink of Muscatine, Bill (Lori) Jarrett of Illinois City, Judy (Jon) Dirnberger of Muscatine and Dennis (Sue) Jarrett of Muscatine; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; brother, Lauren (Nona) Jarrett of Muscatine and several nieces and nephews. Virgil was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Vickie Jarrett; one grandson, Barry Jarrett and sister, Kathleen Richardson.
