Description	:	Virgil Hoge, 81, of West Point, formerly of Scribner, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, West Point. Funeral Services will be at St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point with Reverend Richard Bringewatt officiating. Burial at Trinity Cemetery, rural Scribner, will include military honors by Scribner and Snyder American Legion. Virgil was born May 4, 1931, on a farm west of Snyder to Elmer and Leona (Camin) Hoge. He was baptized and confirmed at rural Trinity Lutheran Church of Scribner. Virgil joined the US Marines in February 1952 and was stationed at San Diego, CA. Following his release from military service in 1955, Virgil joined his family in farming. On August 19, 1956, Virgil married Marilyn Christensen of Fremont. Virgil was very active in Snyder VFW for many years. He retired from farming in 2006 and moved to West Point, where he was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Virgil is survived by special friend Linda Pribnow of West Point; daughter Leona (Leroy) Beck of Scribner; son Larry (Peggy) Hoge of Thousand Oaks, CA; granddaughter Tori Hoge of Thousand Oaks, CA; grandsons Theo Hoge of Thousand Oaks, CA, Andrew (Jenny) Beck of Crete, Casey Beck of Omaha, Scott and Ethan Beck of Scribner; and great-granddaughter Azalyne Beck of Crete. Virgil is preceded in death by his parents and wife Marilyn. Stokely Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
