Wilson, 98, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011, at the White Sulphur Springs Family Care Center, White Sulphur Springs, after a long illness. Mr. Wilson was born at Sinks Grove on Jan. 4, 1913, to Clel and Virginia Smith Wilson. He had been a resident of Organ Cave for 72 years, where he and his wife ran and later owned and operated a dairy, Homeland Farm. Mr. Wilson was born at Sinks Grove on Jan. 4, 1913, to Clel and Virginia Smith Wilson. He had been a resident of Organ Cave for 72 years, where he and his wife ran and later owned and operated a dairy, Homeland Farm. Mr. Wilson was active in the farming community, still raising cattle and gardens, until his nineties, he was well known for his hard work. He served on the Greenbrier County Committee for Farmers Home Administration, member of the Salem Presbyterian Church of Organ Cave, where he served as deacon and elder. Mr. Wilson was the father of nine children. Preceding him in death other than his parents, include his wife, Edna P. Wilson of 77 years; brother, Marvin C. Wilson; three sons, Kenneth, Edwin and Noel Wilson; granddaughter, Lisa Nichols; and a great-great-granddaughter, Emily Cook. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at the Salem Presbyterian Church, Organ Cave, with the Revs. Carl Pattison, Gary Baker, and Mr. Wilson's grandson, the Rev. Mike Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenbrier Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Lewisburg. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, at the Longanacre Funeral Home in Fairlea. Arrangements by Longanacre Funeral Home, Fairlea.
