Description	:	Funeral services were Sept. 21 in Woodbury, Minn., for Virgil H. Herriott, 85, Oakdale, Minn., former general manager of the Sioux Valley Electric. Graveside services will be Sat., Sept. 22, at Dalmanutha Cemetery in rural Casey, Iowa. Herriott served as general manager at SVE for more than 30 years (1953-84). Prior to that, he was general manager of Codington-Clark Electric in Watertown. Following his retirement at SVE general manager, Herriott served as mayor of Brookings. He was active in the formation of the Federated Rural Electric Insurance Cooperative and was a founder of the Rural Electric Management Development Council. Survivors include his mother, Gladys Herriott; two sons-in-law, Wendell Willis and Jim Morse; three granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Neva (Louie) Tronchetti and Lois (Loren) Jacobson. He was preceded in death by his father, Theron; a brother, Lyle; his wife, Ruth; four children, Virgil L., Joyce, Tharon and Teresa Herriott-Willis; and two great-granddaughters.
