Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 14, at Church of Corpus Christi, Bismarck, with the Rev. Paul Becker officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Virgil Henry Woeste was born Jan. 5, 1926, to John and Katherine (Heinen) Woeste in Ogema, Minn. He lived there until the age of 4, and then his family moved to Harvey, where he attended school. In 1943, his family moved to Glen Ullin, where his father purchased the Glen Ullin Creamery which was renamed Woeste Creamery. Virgil bought the creamery from his father in 1961, and operated it until he retired in 2002. He took pride in being the oldest butter maker in North Dakota. Virgil married Jeanne Tschida June 3, 1946. They adopted and raised seven children. Virgil was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Lions, Elks and was a city councilman and mayor of Glen Ullin. After retirement Virgil and Jeanne moved to Alexandria, Minn. They later moved to Bismarck, and have lived here for the last 19 years. Virgil enjoyed spending time at their cabin at Lake Tschida with family and friends. He treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren. He enjoyed music and had a great sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; daughter, Beverly and John Renner, Bismarck; daughter, Lynnette Blakeman, Bismarck; daughter, Jane and Mark Mosbrucker, Davenport, Iowa; daughter, Sharon and Dean Rohrich, Bismarck; son, Robert and Kay Woeste, Bismarck; and daughter, Gina and John Kilzer, Port Angeles, Wash.; 18 grandchildren; his sisters, Mildred Weinmann, Palatine-Ill., Delores and Bob Geitzen, New Leipzig, and Ethelbert and George Svob, Phoenix; and a sister-in-law, Laura Woeste, Glen Ullin. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Victor; a sister, Sister Sharon; and his children, James, Michael and Jane Anne.
