Description	:	VIRGIL L. EVANS, 69, died at 3 p.m. March 31, 2005, at his residence. He was born Feb. 17, 1936, in Middlesboro, Ky., to Walter and Azalee Hatmaker Evans, who preceded him in death. On Aug. 27, 1957, he married Geraldine DeRossett, who died July 7, 1999. Mr. Evans retired in 1978, as a mechanic from Jim Naud Lincoln Mercury. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 691, Wapakoneta. Survivors include two sons, V. Dean (Tara) Evans of Lima and Johnny R. Evans of Cridersville; two daughters, Brenda L. Green of Wapakoneta; three sisters, Thelma Gordon of St. Marys, Mabel Evans of Troy, Tenn., and Bonnie Gossard of Botkins; eight grandchildren, April, Levi, Misty, Johnny, Cassie, Hope, Sara and Benjamin; and five great-grandchildren, Isiah, Dustin, Destiny, Konya and Jadelinn. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Evans; and two brothers, Delford and Buster Evans. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. The Rev. Dennis Kline will officiate. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita's Hospice.
