Burial was in the church cemetery, with military service by Brandenburg-Krueger VFW Post No. 4013. Virgil Wilhelm Adolf Biermann, son of Herman and Clara Buhre Biermann, was born in Douglas township, Bremer county on June 14, 1927. He was baptized July 17, 1927 in St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church, Siegel, by the Rev. K. Pheiffer, and confirmed on April 6, 1941 in St. Peter's Evangelical and Reformed church by the Rev. Theodore Thomas. Mr. Biermann attended elementary school in Douglas township, and served in the army during the Korean conflict from Aug. 9, 1951 to July 9, 1953. He made his home with his parents on their farm in Douglas township. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and St. Peter's church. He is survived by his parents; two brothers, LaVern, Waterloo and John, at home, a sister, Mrs. Erwin Blasberg, Tripoli and his grandfather, John Buhre, Lawler and three nephews and three nieces.
