On December 8, 1933, she was married to William McKinley "Max" Martin at Lancaster, Missouri, and he died October 4, 1969, She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Oskaloosa. On Saturday, February 13, 1999, Virginia died at her home in Oskaloosa, at the age 85 years, 9 months, and 28 days. She is survived by a daughter and her husband: Nancy and Keith Garrett of Oskaloosa; a stepdaughter and her husband: Marjorie and Raymond Sanders of Los Angeles, California; a daughter in law: Joy Martin of New London: 4 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Bill Martin: a stepson: Dick Martin: 2 brothers; and her identical twin sister: Josephine Ryle.
