Description	:	Funeral services for Mrs. G.G. John, who died early Sunday morning at her home in the north west part of town were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Christian Church, Rev. I.H. Burgress conducted the service, with burial in Bluff Cemetery. Pall bearers were Messrs Pemberton, Peerson, McGaugh, Scantland, Wolford, and McCorkill. Mrs. John's maiden name was Virginia Agnes Thomas, and she was born in Scott Co., Mississippi on January 21, 1861. She was married to George Griffith John, November 25, 1890, at St. John, Kansas. Mrs. John's maiden name was Virginia Agnes Thomas, and she was born in Scott Co., Mississippi on January 21, 1861. She was married to George Griffith John, November 25, 1890, at St. John, Kansas. To whom were born four children, all of whom are living; Glenn L. John, Elm Springs; Chaucer G. John, Byers, Kansas, who had been with her mother through the greater part of her illness and was with her at her death. Deceased is also survived by one brother C.C. Thomas and two sisters; Mrs. Joe Peck and Mrs. Ella Brown all of Ronoke, Virginia. Mrs. John was educated at Milligan College in Tennessee and had been a member of the Christian Church for nearly fifty years and seldom missed a church service. She was one of the characters one does not meet every day, a combination of gentleness, refinement, dignity and pure Christianity, forgetting self for others. She will be greatly missed in the home and community, the Sunday school and Church, but her sweet influence will last always.
